- Yes, more or less: these are only the traditionally recognized "simple" prepositions; while there are a lot of more specific and complex prepositions, these are the only monosyllabic and general ones. So unless you have to specify a very particular concept (like "under", "above", ...) you have to use these prepositions. These prepositions are also special because some of these can fuse with the definite article, creating a "composite preposition". Dv103 (talk) 08:02, 21 August 2025 (UTC)
