Summary

Similar to Grammatical number (singular / plural) (Z26934): two-valued grammatical number system (1, >1), this type should encode the grammatical number of languages that have these 3 grammatical numbers (like for example Láadan (Z1882): constructed language).

Alternatives

Some analyses call it 'singular/paucal/plural', or '/greater plural' (since paucal is usually considered a kind of plural, the 'lesser plural'). Sometimes dual is split off from paucal, leading to a 'lesser/greater paucal' split; this proposal does not make that distinction.

  Given the discourse in the "alternatives" section, my question is: in Wikidata, which items are used as grammatical features in Láadan lexeme forms? Dv103 (talk) 08:43, 23 August 2025 (UTC)

  Just as long as it isn't Discourse™...I should clarify that I meant Láadan doesn't use a dual, but perhaps there could be a separate proposal for any languages that add that into the mix. The part of speech in Láadan that can take a grammatical number are the pronouns, which I haven't input into Wikidata's lexicography yet.
